Bio:

Jordan O'Reilly is the CEO and co-founder of Hireup, an online platform revolutionising the way Australians with disability find, hire and manage their own home care and support workers. At just 29 years old, Jordan has led Hireup to significant success in a short amount of time with substantial capital being raised and more than 15,000 sign ups to the platform.

With over six years’ experience in establishing and growing both not-for profit and for-profit disability service providers, Jordan has spent much of his adult life working in the Australian disability sector. He was awarded the NSW Young Carer of the Year Award in 2011, the Rotary Community Service Award in 2012 and the Sydney University Faculty of Health Science Leadership award in 2013.

Jordan has also been awarded the Foundation for Young Australians Changemaker of the Year Award 2014, a Myer Foundation Innovation Fellowship in 2015, Sydney University’s Young Alumni Achievement Award 2015 and NSW State Finalist, Young Australian of the Year Award 2015.

In mid 2016, for his work on Hireup, Jordan was chosen to be part of the Laureate Global Fellowship — one of just 20 young leaders from around the world. In early 2017, Jordan received a Queen’s Young Leader award as well as a Westpac Social Change Fellowship, while Hireup was named one of Westpac’s Top 20 Businesses of Tomorrow. Jordan’s dedication to improving the disability sector in Australia was born from a very personal journey. Jordan grew up alongside a younger brother with disability and as a result witnessed first-hand the inefficiencies of the current system. It shaped his desire to work towards a brighter future for all Australians with disability and their families. Initially this was by studying Occupational Therapy and becoming a support worker himself before looking at more effective and large-scale ways he could improve the system.
